Not only were his slaves mis handle and mistreatd, but it sees that his children were treated poorly as well. Learning about historical experience makes me appreciate that we have laws and people arent treated inhumane. Although slaves exhibited mates active and unresisting responses, I feel that the majority were supine. From what I read in Harriet Jacobs diary was that the slave owners were very pitch-black and treated them with little to no respect at all. Harriet makes it a point that the master would (from what I interpreted), rape her. Harriet hid in an noodle from her master and her children for seven years. Of course at this point Harriet would be considered an active slave for running away from her master. The evidence that I gathered from William Byrds diary, I desire impacted his children on how they viewed life and how the treatment of slaves was passed on from generation to generation.
